Friday morning a man who many thought might escape justice was sentenced to nearly a year in the Muskingum County Jail.

County Judge Jay Vinsel handed down the sentence after hearing statements from multiple victims and their families.

Cory Marling, a former teacher at Nashport Elementary and principal at Frazeysburg Elementary, will serve 340 days in the county jail.

He was accused of inappropriately touching multiple underage children under his care. He was remanded into the custody of the Sheriff’s Department to begin his sentence.
