A 16 year-old has died and another is injured as a result of a crash in Madison Township near Dresden Monday afternoon.

The teenage boys were heading west on OH-208 when the vehicle began to fishtail, causing the driver to over-correct, said Sergeant Kevin Kelley of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Zanesville Post.

OSP said the driver went off the side of the road, overturned and struck a utility pole.

The driver, Gavin Morgan of Nashport, was pronounced dead on the scene. He was trapped inside the pickup truck and had to be extricated, according to OSP.

The passenger, Blaze Foster of Adamsville, was taken to Genesis Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening conditions.

Both lanes of traffic were blocked off by first responders as crews began cleaning the scene around 3 p.m.

Fire and medical crews from Dresden and Adamsville, as well as Community Ambulance, Coshocton REACT, the Muskingum County Coroner, SRS services, ODOT and Ford’s Towing were all on scene.

OSP is still investigating the crash.
