Late Sunday afternoon, two males entered Zales Jewelers and demanded an employee fill a bag with merchandise.

One of the two men that entered the store around 4 p.m. had a firearm, Captain Comstock with the Zanesville Police Department said.

After the employee had loaded some encased merchandise into the bag, one of the subjects stated that they had enough, and both robbers fled Zales located inside Colony Square Mall.

It’s unknown at this time how much merchandise was stolen from the store.

The robbery is currently under investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time.
