Zane State College will receive $238,650 to purchase healthcare learning equipment through a grant designed to give public institutions the necessary equipment to prepare students for skilled in-demand jobs.

According to a press release by Zane State College, the money will be used to purchase items such as an Arterialine Trainer and an Airway Management Trainer. Both products are produced by Simulab, a company who designs medical simulators for the medical education community.

“This equipment will ensure that our future workforce is well prepared to help us remain competitive,” noted Dianna LeVeck, Chief Administrative Officer with Genesis Healthcare System.

The grant is part of a larger $8 million dollar initiative in the state’s recent budget, of which Zane State College was one of nine regional awards. Four of which were awarded to institutions in Southeast Ohio.

Governor DeWine in a press release stated that the program offers a unique opportunity for Ohio’s colleges and employers to address local workforce needs.

“Students are able to gain top-notch equipment that helps better prepare them for available jobs,” said DeWine when announcing the program.
