It has been a day of mourning and reflection for many in Muskingum County following the sudden death of long-time Clerk of Courts Todd Bickle Thursday morning.

Among those sharing their memories of Bickle was Congressman Troy Balderson, who issued the following statement:

“Muskingum County lost not only a great elected official today, but a great supporter of our community. Todd was a personal friend of my family and someone I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for more than 30 years. Our entire community mourns this loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with his wife Kristi, their two children, his parents Bob and Joanne, brother Greg, and granddaughter.”

Bickle was in his 28th year as Clerk of Courts and has worked in that office for the past 36 years.

In addition to his work locally, Bickle also served as a past president of the Ohio Clerks Association and was active on several committees on the state level.

“There was no one that met Todd that had a bad word to say about him. He was always smiling and quick to say hello.  He was always quick with a joke,” said Assistant Prosecutor Ron Welch. You would be hard pressed to find a prouder grandpa.  Family meant so much to him. He was a great public servant but an even better man.”
