The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced that Interstate 70 will be restricted to one lane through part of Muskingum County over the following days.

A press release from the agency said the restriction is necessary to handle vertical extension repairs.

Beginning Friday, November 19, only one lane of traffic in each direction will be traversable. The restriction will last through Tuesday, November 23.

The portion of roadway affected is between the Norwich and Sonora/Airport entrances and exits.

According to ODOT, construction will occur from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

State traffic counts indicate that between 20,000 and 30,000 motorists use that portion of the interstate daily, depending on the particular time of year
