By Staff Report

Troopers from the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol have been busy delivering meals to area school children during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sgt. Kyle Shirer and Trooper Allen Shirer assisted the Adamsville Elementary PTO in delivering meals Tuesday afternoon, while Trooper Scott Leach helped hand out meals with Franklin Local Schools staff.

Last week Trooper Leach helped prepare over 2,500 bags of food with other volunteers for students in the Franklin Local School district before the meals were delivered around the district.

As the coronavirus has closed schools, community members have come together to make sure no child goes hungry. Many students receive two meals a day at their school building and most local districts have worked to create programs to ensure students continue to be fed.
