Dog pulled from kitchen fire on Military
August 16, 2019
Firefighters pulled a small dog from a house on Military Road early Friday afternoon that caught fire while the residents were away from home.
According to Zanesville Assistant Fire Chief Doug Hobson, a stove fire spread throughout the kitchen with heavy flames while causing heat and smoke damage to the home.
When firefighters arrived, Hobson said they searched the home for the dog that was reported missing.
“I am thankful to say that the dog is found, and he is fine,” said Hobson.
According to Hobson, 75 percent of the kitchen is a complete loss.
Until the home can be cleared of smoke, Hobson said the fire department planned to get the family of three adults in touch with the American Red Cross.
No one was injured in the fire.
The Falls Township Fire Department, Zanesville Police Department and Value Care Ambulance Service were called to assist.
