A portion of State Route 586, commonly known as Black Run Road, will be closed for the rest of the week beginning Tuesday.

Crews are working to replace a railroad crossing near the Energy Cooperative’s Black Run Propane Operations site.

The Ohio Department of Transportation recently announced the closure which will require motorists to take a roughly 9 minute – 7.9-mile detour.

Due to construction work required, the railroad crossing will be impassable to even local traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to use SR-16 and SR-146 as a possible detour around the closure.

Signs are posted along connecting roads offering recommended routes.

The closure is expected to last through Friday, June 18.

Data from the Ohio Department of Transportation shows that the roadway has a daily average vehicular traffic of 1,672 automobiles.
