South East Area Transit (SEAT) will once again offer fixed-route service to the Zanesville/Muskingum County community beginning Monday, October 5.

As previously reported back in April, SEAT moved to demand only service, with limitations on non-medical trips per week, as a way to stop the spread of the Coronavirus and ensure vehicles were routinely cleaned.

Following the reinstatement of fares near the beginning of August, the transit service made its announcement soon thereafter of its plan to resume all street routes within Muskingum County.

All routes will resume their normal 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule Monday morning, with fare prices remaining at the same rates they were before the pandemic began.

All riders will be required to wear a facial covering.

The transit service will also be asking customers to socially distance while inside its vehicles.

SEAT is continuing to clean its buses, transit center and offices with hospital-grade disinfectants.

Employees have been provided with hand sanitizers and operators are equipped with protective gear, including gloves.

Demand response service is also available by calling 740-454-8573 and selecting option 1.
