South East Area Transit (SEAT) announced earlier this week that starting Monday, April 13 its Zanesville street routes will be discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Transportation for essential rides will still be provided but will require calling into the transit center to schedule.

Riders will be allowed one non-medical trip per week with priority given to medical and work-related transportation.

The transit system is continuing to clean its buses, Transit Center, and offices with hospital-grade disinfectants.

Employees have also been provided with hand sanitizers and operators are equipped with protective gear, including gloves.

During the coronavirus outbreak, SEAT is offering free fares for all essential trips.

Those looking to schedule a ride should call 740-454-8573 option 1.
