The Masonic Temple has a new business, which is having its grand opening Friday, that specializes in planning and officiating smaller weddings.

Run to an Elopement Express, which offers services for those looking for a non-traditional wedding, has been around for over a decade, and partners Windi Noble and Amy Aurore are excited to open their newest location in Zanesville.

Aurore said choosing the historic downtown Zanesville site was easy as they fell in love with the building and its architecture.

When the Coronavirus hit and Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued a multitude of orders, including one which affected wedding occupancy levels, Aurore said they witnessed a large demand in micro-weddings, where often only close family members attend the ceremony.

Many couples have chosen to veer away from the traditional wedding, choosing instead to have elopement ceremonies at places such as local bed and breakfasts, Airbnb’s or outside at places such as Hocking Hills, Aurore added.

The partners will offer multiple different options for local couples looking to get married, from a simple express option at their office to multiple open outdoor locations around town.

The business is having its grand opening this Friday, September 4 from noon until 8 p.m. during the Masonic Temple’s First Friday Art Walk.

Located in Suite 301, Run to an Elopement Express is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
