Warning issued to Dillon Lake swimmers
June 7, 2018
Anyone with weekend plans at Dillon State Park should take caution before getting in the water to swim.
The Ohio Department of Health has issued a bacteria contamination alert due to the level of E.Coli in Dillon Lake as of May 31.
According to the Department of Health, the levels are unsafe and have potential to make people sick.
“Children, the elderly and those in ill health or who have weakened immune systems are advised not to swim in it,” the department said in a statement to Y-City News.

I am pregnant, and my 4 year old son and I have already swam at the beach this year. Should I be concerned? Also, why wasn’t the warning issued sooner? If the levels were that bad prior to May 31st then the warning should have been issued sooner to reduce the risk. I am outraged that the citizens were not notified sooner.
