US-40 remains closed as crash investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigate a two-car crash near the intersection of Jersey Ridge Road.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. involving a Chevy Blazer and a Muskingum County Sheriffs’ vehicle.

Scanner traffic indicated that at least one person had to be extricated from their vehicle.

According to troopers, three individuals were transported from the scene, a Muskingum County Sheriffs’ Deputy and two individuals from the Chevy Blazer.

The injuries of all three patients are currently unknown.

The crash is still under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
