Brandon and Austin Lemmon are at it again, this year adding over 5,000 lights to their already extensive light show they create each year for the local community.

This past Saturday over 100 people lined up around the brothers’ home to watch the inaugural turning on of the lights. Santa made an appearance for the young children in the audience, and the brothers baked hundreds of cookies to be handed out after the show.

“I was really happy to see everyone liking it and just thinking about all the work that we put into it, it really paid off to see everyone’s reactions and see how much they loved it,” said Austin Lemmon, the younger of the two brothers.

This year, the brothers built on the momentum of last year’s show, adding two large snowflakes, an additional arch over their driveway, a second snow machine, two more DMX lights and a full size Christmas tree on top of their roof.

“We had different ideas from last year’s show, and we wanted to see if we could make it happen,” remarked Austin as he pointed out all the additions this year.

The lineup includes seven songs, two remaining from last year, and five new ones — each manually programmed to sync with the various lights.

The process takes over five hours to program each song on a computer the brothers keep in their garage. This year, there are over 80 separate channels that can to be programmed, a heafty increase from the mere 32 channels the brothers had last winter.

In 2019, the Lemmon brothers invested in three additional Light-O-Rama Controller Boxes, which allows them greater control in programming individual lights in their show.

As for next year, the brothers already have some ideas, but are keeping them closely guarded.

The light show plays every night between 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. through Dec. 25 at 909 Lindergh Avenue Zanesville, Ohio.
