Throughout this week and next, employees with Century National Bank are volunteering their talents to help organizations dedicated to serving the community.

Wednesday, the banking franchises kicked off the inaugural days of Century Cares at the Carr Center. Thursday, different associates moved their efforts to ForeverDads.

“The organizations we’re reaching out to, they do fantastic things for the community, so it’s just our way of really helping them extend their reach and the great things that they’re doing,” Jason Wilhelm, the HR Manager for Century National Bank, said.

According to Wilhelm, Park National Corporation, which is the larger corporation over Century National Bank, hosts volunteering days, and Century decided to adopt the idea.

Throughout the rest of this week and next week, associates from various branches and departments of Century National Bank will be volunteering at organizations like Christ’s Table, Eastside Community Ministries and about a dozen more.

‘It’s our community, right? So, there’s a lot more to, I want to say, to being a part of the community than just having the shop there and doing business,” Wilhelm said. “It’s about giving back as well, so we enjoy doing what we do on a daily basis, and that’s banking but we certainly, probably equally as much, love volunteering our time and talents and giving back to our community.”

As the President of the ForeverDads Board, Wilhelm said it was a no-brainer for him to volunteer at the ForeverDads location painting fire escapes and the fence in front of the building.

“For me, it was very natural, but it was very nice to see associates that I work with come out and volunteer alongside,” Wilhelm said of choosing to volunteer at ForeverDads.

Each of the approximately 75 Century associates that volunteered were able to choose which organization they wanted to spend their volunteer hours helping.
