A man and woman were taken into custody after fleeing from police in Zanesville Thursday evening.

According to Captain Scott Comstock of the Zanesville Police Department, just before 6 p.m. an officer spotted a man with a felony warrant out of Muskingum County riding in a car near Putnam Avenue.

When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver fled, initiating a pursuit near the V.F.W.

At some point, the passenger, identified as Marco Halfhill, bailed out of the car and was chased on foot. He was later apprehended by officers, but not before a Taser was deployed.

The driver of the vehicle was also arrested once the vehicle was located at the end of Putnam Avenue near Maysville Avenue.

She was also charged in the incident.

Comstock said Halfhill had a warrant for having a weapon under disability, a felony offense.

He also picked up misdemeanor charges for running from the police.
