Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol are trying to confirm who the driver was of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian crossing Maysville Avenue late Monday morning.

Around 11:45 a.m., a man was crossing the street from Campbell’s Foodland toward Coconis Furniture when the driver of a gold Nissan turning left onto Maysville Avenue hit him.

The victim said he sustained injuries to his elbows and groin but did not want to be treated medically.

According to the victim, two women were in the car at the time, but it was the passenger who told police she was responsible for striking him.

The incident remains under investigation.
