Interstate 70 eastbound at mile marker 144 is down to one lane near Gratiot after a box-truck overturned around 8:30 a.m Wednesday.

According to Jordan Butler of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a few trees, went over an embankment and finally came to a rest on its left side.

The driver had to be extricated from the cab of the truck and was transported to Genesis Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which will determine if the driver will be cited.

The interstate is expected to be restricted to one lane of traffic until a heavy wrecker can clear the truck from the embankment.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Muskingum County EMA, the Ohio Department of Transportation, as well as the Zanesville, Falls, Washington and National Trails Fire and EMS were all on scene.
