An accident on State Route 60 involving five teenagers left one boy fatally injured.

On Saturday, April 6, five teenage boys were driving on SR-60 when the vehicle began swerving and overturned.

Monday morning, just after 12 a.m., Lt. Matt Boyd with the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified that Ryan Tullius had died.

Tullius was ejected from the Jeep and sustained serious injuries before being taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Boyd said the accident is still under investigation.

The teen was a freshman at Zanesville High School and enjoyed riding his bike, swimming, doing back flips, making goat noises and hanging out with his friends, according to his obituary.

Calling hours are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 at Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, also at Bryan and Hardwick Funeral Home.
