A senior at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers from the Maysville school district has earned national honors for her volunteer service throughout the community.

Sydney Joseph was recognized for her service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program, Joseph joins award winning middle and high school students across the country who have dedicated significant amounts of their time volunteering to better serve their communities and country.

“Across the United States, young volunteers are doing remarkable things to contribute to the well-being of the people and communities around them,” said Prudential CEO Charles Lowrey. “Prudential is honored to celebrate the contributions of these students, and we hope their stories inspire others to volunteer, too.”

The daughter of Chad and Julie, Joseph spends her time volunteering at Christ’s Table and the Salvation Army. She serves as the president of the Mid-East Skills USA chapter and Vice President of the Mid-East National Honor Society and studies in the Licensed Practical Nurse program.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary Principals (NASSP).
