Interstate 70 westbound in Downtown Zanesville is down to one lane near the Fifth Street exit after a semi-truck overturned around 2:45 p.m.

According to Chief Jeffrey Bell of the Zanesville Fire Department, the driver of the semi had to be extricated from the cab of the truck that had rolled over into an embankment.

The driver walked away with minor injuries to the ambulance and was taken to Genesis Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Once the investigation is complete, a heavy wrecker can be dispatched to clear the scene and open the interstate back to both lanes.

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency assisted on the scene to help mitigate any leaked fuel from the crash.
