Fire forced the early eviction of a Dryden Road resident who was court ordered on Monday to vacate the property by March 11.

According to the Zanesville Fire Department, an accidental fire began in the kitchen of 842 Dryden Road Saturday evening.

Before the fire department arrived, police were already on scene for a welfare check and called in ZFD for assistance upon encountering the fire.

Two people were in the home at the time and were able to get out unharmed.

The house, which was already marked condemned in January, is now even more unlivable with the smoke damage it sustained during the fire.

The fire department requested the house be boarded up and no one go back inside.

Volunteers from the Red Cross were on scene to offer assistance to those displaced.
