A sex offender is going back to prison for 30 months for failing to register for a second time since 2016.

Jeffrey Emig, 39, was sentenced by Judge Mark Fleegle in common pleas court last week.

Emig was originally convicted of gross sexual imposition in 1999 in Hamilton County.

According to court records, in 2016, Emig was sentenced to three years of community control for failing to register as a sex offender.

Six months later, Emig was back in court and sentenced to two years in prison for a rule violation.

Less than a year after his November 2018 release, a warrant was issued for Emig’s arrest in August for failing to register for a second time.

On Feb. 27, 2019, Emig was sentenced to a two-and-a-half year prison term.
