This sweet pup, named after a member of the Mario clan, is looking for a family to call his own.

Bowser was brought into the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center as a stray at the beginning of December 2018.

A family had picked him up and kept him in hopes of locating his owners. After unsuccessful attempts, the family turned the stray over to the adoption center.

While Bowser got along well with the family members and their dogs, he was not a fan of the family’s cats which led them to not keep him in their own home.

“He’s very sweet,” Deputy Dog Warden Brittany Callihan said.

Bowser is a lab-mix and is estimated to be about two years-old. He’s very curious and more quiet than most other dogs at the adoption center.

“He really likes people, and he really likes outside,” Callihan said.

Bowser would do well in just about any family environment, but Callihan said he would do exceptionally well with an active family that’s willing to take him along for adventures.

Deputy Dog Warden Josh Martinez added that Bowser would be a great dog for a family that’s willing to put a little time and work into training him, as well.

The medium-sized pup is currently 58 pounds and is as tall as he’ll get, although Callihan said he’ll gain around 10 more pounds.

Bowser is available for adoption at the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center. Anyone interested in adopting him can call the center to set up an appointment for a meet-and-greet at 740.453.0273.
