By Christine Holmes, News Director

A fire that destroyed a home near Linden Avenue is under investigation Thursday morning.

According to Assistant Chief Doug Vandenbark, around 6 a.m. firefighters from Zanesville and Falls Township were notified from a passerby that a house on Bluff Street was on fire.

When crews arrived on scene, the entire front of the house was on fire.

Vandenbark said no one was home at the time.

Representatives from the American Red Cross said they will be providing the resident with a place to stay over the weekend.

No further information regarding the fire was available Thursday morning, but firefighters expect to release a statement in the afternoon.

Also on scene to assist was ValueCare Ambulance.
