A Roseville man accused of beating a woman in their home and ramming her car with his SUV when she attempted to escape pleaded guilty to all charges related to the October domestic violence incident in Judge Fleegle’s court, Monday.
Gregory Pinkerton, 57, is charged with one count of attempted felonious assault, a third-degree felony, one count of abduction, also a third-degree felony and one count of domestic violence, a first-degree misdemeanor.
According to Muskingum County Assistant Prosecutor John Litle, Pinkerton became combative with the victim while fighting over a phone, repeatedly slamming her head on a door jamb, striking her in the head and ribs with his fists and holding her down on a couch against her will.
At one point, the victim asked Pinkerton to let her retrieve a pack of cigarettes from her car, allowing her to escape the home.
Litle said Pinkerton aggressively followed the victim, knocked the side mirror off her car, passed her on the road, and began to repeatedly back into her car.
The woman was able to escape to South Zanesville where deputies who had been alerted of the situation pulled her over at Campbell’s Foodland. According to Litle, the victim told police that Pinkerton was trying to kill her.
Pinkerton’s vehicle was located further along Maysville Avenue in the Walmart parking lot behind Arby’s, Litle said.
Once arrested, Litle said Pinkerton began to blame the victim for the attack.
Pinkerton is being held in the Muskingum County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
A sentencing date is pending.
