The Maysville Avenue McDonald’s was closed briefly Wednesday morning after a cooler door frame heater melted, filling the building with smoke.

Restaurant employees and customers were evacuated while fire crews from Zanesville and South Zanesville responded just before 9 a.m.

Power was cut to the building out of precaution and is in the process of being restored, according to Zanesville Fire Department Assistant Chief John Rodman.
