The on-ramp for Interstate 70 West from Sixth Street, as well as the Maple Ave. exit off I-70 are both closed due to repairs to the concrete wall after a fatal accident last Thursday, Nov. 15.

Both the on-ramp and exit on that portion of I-70 will be closed Tuesday until 5 p.m. and throughout the day Wednesday, a Zanesville Ohio Department of Transportation employee said.

Only the exit ramp is affected on I-70, no lanes are closed due to the repairs being made.

The concrete wall is planned to be restored Wednesday and not continue into the holiday weekend.

A portion of the wall on I-70 was damaged when a San Antonio semi-truck driver died after collided with another vehicle out of Virginia. Road conditions that morning were poor due to an ice storm overnight the night prior.

The passenger in the semi-truck walked away unharmed, as well as the driver of the car the semi collided with.
