The Muskingum County Community Foundation Council is now accepting nominations for outstanding leaders that serve the community through volunteer work.

The award was founded to recognize young volunteer leaders while also encouraging other younger people to become involved in service and leadership to improve the community, according to a media release.

Anyone nominated for the award should be between the ages of 18 and 55 years-old and show a dedication of time and spirit to leadership in a successful volunteer project or show a history of volunteer leadership.

The deadline to nominate people for the award is Tuesday, Dec. 4.

The award will be presented to the recipient during the MCCF Groundhog Day Celebration on Feb. 19. The winner of the award will have a permanent plaque on display at the MCCF office. Additionally, MCCF will donate $1,000 to the winner’s favorite non-profit.

Nominees must live in and volunteer within Muskingum County. To make a nomination, email giving@mccf.org or deliver the nomination to the MCCF office at 534 Putnam Ave. A nomination must include the nominees address, email address and phone number.

Nomination applications can be found at MCCF.org.

After a person is nominated, they will receive an application.

About 18 people have received the award since it was founded in 2005.
