Donohoe pleads not guilty to murdering infant son
October 17, 2018
The woman alleged of killing her one-month old son by exposing him to extreme heat pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning.
Samantha Donohoe, 27, is accused of leaving her infant inside a hot car on Sept. 4, one of the hottest days of the year.
The 57-day-old baby died due to hyperthermia that evening.
Donohoe was eventually arrested on Oct. 12.
She was indicted on several felonies, including murder, involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault and endangering children.
During her arraignment, Donohoe requested to be released to a relative but was denied.
Her bond remains at $250,000.
Following her arrest, Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox said Donohoe also lost another baby in 2017 when she fell asleep with her 31-day-old daughter, suffocating her to death.
Haddox said that case was investigated and ruled accidental.
