A garage on the Dow Cameron Oil and Gas property on caught on fire in the early evening on Thursday.

The Washington Township Fire Department was the first on the scene of a structure fire at 1470 Adamsville Road. The garage is located further back on the property behind the business.

Washington Township ran out of water on its trucks and began using Zanesville Fire Department truck’s water, said Assistant Zanesville Fire Chief Jeff Bell.

The Perry Township Fire Department was called to the scene and hooked up to a hydrant on its way in.

“We’re running off hydrant water now so we’ll have plenty of water,” Bell said. “So, right now we’re just putting water on it.”

Bell said that the garage is rented out by the owner of the company for people to store their vehicles.

AEP arrived on scene at about 7 p.m. to unhook the electric to the garage.

No one was in the garage at the time of the fire, and no injuries were sustained.

The fire is under investigation.
