Vanna came into the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center with a companion.

The wardens try to give dogs that come in as pairs iconic duo name, which led to the names of Vanna and her friend Pat named after the Wheel of Fortune hosts, Vanna White and Pat Sajak.

The pair came into the facility as strays at the beginning of August, and Deputy Warden Brittany Callihan said she and the other wardens believe the two dogs had been running together.

Vanna is a medium-sized Terrier and Pit bull mix. She has a tri-color coat of brown, black and white fur.

“If you don’t like pits, give them a chance,” Callihan said. “I have two … she’s an extra sweet dog.”

Not only does the friendly Vanna have a blended coat, she has a special little feature on top of her head.

“Quickly, she’s stolen our hearts, literally” Callihan said. “She’s actually got a little white heart on top of her head.”

Vanna gets along well with other dogs and all people, especially if they’re willing to give her a belly rub.

She has not been spayed as of Friday, but she is on the warden’s list to receive the treatment. Once that’s complete, Vanna will be ready for a new adventure in a good home.

Vanna will soon be available for adoption at the Muskingum County Dog Warden and Adoption Center. Anyone interested in adopting her can call the center to set up an appointment for a meet-and-greet at 740.453.0273.
