As repairs are still underway to get the VA Zanesville Clinic back up and running, doctors are seeing patients in a mobile clinic located in the parking lot.

Two weekends ago the clinic flooded due to a broken water heater within the building. There was damage to the carpeting and drywall in the facility.

In order to continue serving patients, the VA has brought in two mobile VA clinics to the side parking lot of the Zanesville clinic.

Each mobile unit has one primary care physicians seeing patients. The units have been at the VA Zanesville Clinic since Saturday.

While primary care appointments can resume, specialty and behavioral healthcare patient are being referred to both Newark and Columbus VA clinics. The VA has reached out to patients with scheduled appointments, Carl Higginbotham, VA Public Affairs Officer, said.

Last week, the VA staff was working with the building owner to assess and begin repairs to the damages. As the repairs continue, it is unclear when the clinic will be reopened.
