Friday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol announced that an OVI checkpoint would take place in Zanesville.

Yesterday, it was announced that the checkpoint would be located in Muskingum County.

From 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., OSP along with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Department will be operating an OVI checkpoint on Northpointe Drive.

OSP also said that “saturation patrols” will be in the nearby area to combat impaired driver related accidents and injuries.

Drivers are encouraged to make alternative transportation arrangements if they plan to consume alcohol.
