Multiple law enforcement agencies are still searching for a Zanesville man wanted for aggravated vehicular homicide after a woman was killed on U.S. 40 last week.

Derek Weaver, 29, is accused of going left of center in his pickup truck and striking a car driven by 62 year-old  Cathie Clippinger of Mount Perry.

Clippinger was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to the Granville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Weaver fled the scene on foot and accepted rides along the way heading in the direction of Zanesville but also fled those vehicles.

At the time, troopers thought Weaver was severely injured based on the condition of Weaver’s pickup truck and witness statements.

Officials believe Weaver is alive, but locating him has been a challenge because he is thought to be homeless and is currently unemployed.

Additionally, troopers say Weaver may have an addiction problem.

On his court docket, Weaver’s last known address is listed as the Salvation Army on Putnam Avenue.

OSP, U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement agencies are all involved in the search for Weaver.

According to OSP, officers are following up on leads they are given.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Weaver is encouraged to contact OSP at (740) 654-1523.
