Woman and child injured in I-70 rollover
July 5, 2018
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to take caution during thunderstorms after a woman and young child were injured in a rollover accident on Interstate 70 late Thursday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Jeffrey Jirles of the Zanesville post, 32 year-old Amber Johnson of Zanesville was driving east near the Adamsville exit when she was caught in a thunderstorm around 4 p.m.
Jirles said the wet road conditions caused Johnson to lose control of her vehicle, resulting in her driving off the side of the interstate and flipping into the median.
Johnson and her three year-old passenger were taken to Genesis Hospital by ambulance.
According to Jirles, Johnson was cited for failure to control her vehicle.
