A young man accused of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, has been apprehended after fleeing while out on bond.

Nathan Ramsey, now 23-years-old, was originally indicted in June of last year, posted bond and never returned for his arraignment.

According to court documents, Ramsey is accused of illegal sexual acts with a minor back in 2019.

At the time he was 21-years old and his alleged victim was nearing her 14th birthday.

A Muskingum County grand jury indicted Ramsey on four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, each carrying up to 18 months in prison.

Ramsey was arrested on August 20, 2020, quickly posting his $50,000 bond and ordered to return the following week to be arraigned.

Instead however, Ramsey fled and didn’t show up to court.

A bench warrant was issued against him and 10 months later he was found and taken to jail.

Wednesday morning instead of showing up while out on bond, Ramsey appeared in an orange jumpsuit and shackles, now considered a flight risk.

During his arraignment before Judge Mark Fleegle, Ramsey pleaded not guilty to all four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Due to the fact that Ramsey was five years older than the other participant, he was charged with a fourth-degree felony.

Had the other individual been a minor but less than four years in age, the charge would be a first-degree misdemeanor.

Likewise, had there been more than a 10 year age difference, the charges would be third-degree felonies.
