A family is displaced following a house fire that occurred late Sunday night along Garden Road in Falls Township.

According to Falls Township Assistant Fire Chief Joe Hunt, firefighters were dispatched at around 10:30 p.m. after numerous calls were made to the Muskingum County Dispatch Center alerting of a home fully engulfed in flames.

As the first units of the Falls Township Fire Department arrived on scene, firefighters began to combat the blaze.

Neighboring departments, who were initially notified as per mutual aid agreements, also began to arrive to help fight the house fire.

Hunt said that no one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was notified and they will be assisting the residents with housing and other needed necessities.

Eventually, the fire was able to be brought under control, with some neighbors reporting low water pressure as firefighters worked to fight the fire.

It is unknown if there was insurance on the structure or an exact monetary calculation of damages.

The case remains under investigation.

According to scanner traffic, fire personnel were called back to the site hours later for a rekindling of the structure.

Assisting the Falls Township Fire Department was the City of Zanesville Fire Department, the Village of Dresden Fire Department and Washington Township Fire Department.

Community Ambulance was also on the scene.
