Weekend Planner: June 21-24

Summer is bringing out plenty of events in Zanesville and around Muskingum County. Here’s a guide to keep people busy all weekend long. Have a weekend event that needs to be added to the list? Email us at contact@ycitynews.com.

Thursday, June 21:

  • Dresden Homecoming beings at 6 p.m. The event will offer entertainment, food and family-friendly fun. The “Salute to First Responders” Parade will be Wednesday night.
  • Kristoff Event at The Traveling Humidor. Kristoff Cigars will be at The Traveling Humidor from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The lounge opens at noon but the event doesn’t begin until 6 p.m. There will be deals on Kristoff Cigars, freebies and raffles. The lounge is always

Friday, June 22:

  • Lorena Sternwheeler Public Rides from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Zane’s Landing Park. The sternwheeler travels up the Muskingum River Trail. No reservations are required but guests are asked to arrive 20 minutes before they plan to ride. Seniors ride for $7, Adults ride for $8 and children ride for $4.
  • The Wilds Sunset Safari Tour at 4:30 p.m. Guests enjoy a buffet-style dinner before boarding a safari vehicle to see the animals up close in their open-range habitats. The tour includes a behind-the-scenes viewing of the property. It’s $75 per person or $70 per person for members. Make your reservation here.

  • Lorena Sternwheeler Barbeque Dinner Cruise from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Zane’s Landing Park. Guests are asked to call 48 hours in advance to make a reservation. Adult tickets for $35 and children’s tickets for $15.
  • Garden Party Gala to benefit the Zanesville Museum of Art from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is $50 per person and includes dinner, a cash bar, and live & silent auctions. All proceeds go toward the Zanesville Museum of Art.
  • Chef in the Vineyard Dinner at Terra Cotta Vineyard starting at 7 p.m. Call 740.872.3791 or visit Terra Cotta Vineyard’s website to make a reservation.
  • Buckshot Band Live and DJ Jawz are performing at The Barn from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. and 11 p.m. – 2 p.m. respectfully.

Saturday, June 23:

  • Dresden Homecoming Kiddie Day beings at 9:30 a.m. The regularly scheduled events will resume Saturday night at 6 p.m. The event will offer entertainment, food and family-friendly fun.
  • DIY Paint Workshop at Girl UPcycled Studio from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. The workshop will be a guided paint finishing event to help participants learn how to how to create paint finishes on their own pieces. The event is open to the public. There’s a $10 deposit and it’s BYOP (bring your own piece). The $10 deposit secures a seat for you at the events and covers the cost of paint.
  • Storytime with Mr. Andy at the Lorena Sternwheeler at Zane’s Landing Park. Children will receive a free book coupon from the Muskingum County Library. For tickets call 740.455.8282 or visit the Welcome Center. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $4 for children.
  • Godz-Fest Local Rock and Roll Legend Tribute Show and DJ Harden will be playing at The Barn from 3 p.m. – 2 a.m. and 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. respectfully.

  • Comedy Night at Bryan’s Place to benefit Trevor Hina from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or by calling Leianne Michelle Barnes at 740.586.8144. Dinner will be available for an additional purchase beginning at 6 p.m. The comedian will arrive at 8 p.m. All proceeds will go toward Trevor Hina’s funeral expenses. Trevor Hina died unexpectedly from a heart attack on May 7.

Sunday, June 24:

  • 7th Annual Art in the Gardens Tour at Zanesville Art Museum from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The tour begins that the art museum but features six different gardens throughout the Zanesville area. For tickets and more information call 740.452.0741.
