The current Muskingum County Sheriff will remain in place for another four years following a landslide November election.

Matt Lutz, who was first elected as county sheriff in 2008, was successfully re-elected to his fourth term Tuesday night.

Having beaten his opponent, Joshua Weaver, by a margin of nearly threefold, Lutz will go on to serve as sheriff until at least January of 2025.

During an interview with Y-City News Tuesday night Lutz said he was very humbled and appreciative of all those who voted for him and looked forward to continuing to serve Muskingum County as sheriff.

As of Tuesday night, Lutz had 29,077 votes to Weaver’s 9,671 votes.
