Genesis Healthcare System has announced that they are once again modifying their visitation policy to enable some patients to have expanded visitations.

Patients will now be allowed to have two visitors between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily, except for patients in the emergency department, where only one visitor will still be allowed.

According to officials with Genesis, the continuation of the limitation of visitors in the emergency department is to protect individuals in an area where patients are being actively evaluated for the Coronavirus.

The Healthcare System will continue to limit the visitation of patients by children under the age of 18 unless there are special circumstances, such as end-of-life.

Officials say that labor, delivery and post-partum patients will be permitted two visitors with no restrictions on hours.

Those visitors however must be at least 18 years old, with an exception for fathers who are under the age of 18.

All visitors are reminded that they must wear a mask at all times during their visit and maintain social distancing of at least six feet.

Only in cases of end-of-life, or other special circumstances, will patients who are confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 be allowed visitors.

All visitors will be required to undergo a screening process before entering the hospital.

Those with a fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills and shaking, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste and smell will only be allowed to visit a patient in the hospital for circumstances relating to that patient’s end-of-life.

Restrictions may also apply at physicians’ offices or other Genesis facilities.
