Kellogg looks to expand Zanesville facility
August 10, 2020
A local food manufacturing company is looking to potentially expand following an emergency vote by Zanesville City Council Monday night.
Kellogg Company, a subsidiary of Worthington Foods, is located at the intersection of Northpointe Drive and Fairview Road and produces products such as Morningstar Farm’s veggie burger.
According to documents from the City of Zanesville, the company is looking to invest over $43 million dollars and add upward of 40,000 square feet to its existing building.
The project, if approved, would also add 40 full-time permanent jobs with an estimated yearly payroll of over $2 million dollars.
Construction would begin in September of this year, with an estimated completion date of December 2021.
Council will vote on authorizing a tax exemption under the State’s Enterprize Zone Program.
According to Ohio’s Development Services Agency’s website, the program “is an economic development tool administered by municipal and county governments that provides real and personal property tax exemptions to businesses making investments in Ohio.”
The vote Monday night would give Kellogg Company a 60 percent real property tax exemption for 10 years.

I believe your report has it backwards. Worthington Foods is a subsidiary of Kellogg’s.
