A local startup is eyeing to become the community’s one-stop-shop for its snacking needs.

Snackeez, is an online service that will deliver snacks, adult beverages, soft drinks as well as vape and tobacco products to select parts of Muskingum County.

The company is the idea of Maxwell’s Drive-thru & Pizzeria owner, Cas Maxwell and his childhood best friend Alex Allen.

Inspired by the behemoths of companies like Grubhub and Uber Eats, the two friends and their three other co-founders wanted to make a more localized delivery service.

While the business doesn’t yet have an app, it has a mobile-friendly website that works very similar to other on-demand delivery services.

Snackeez’s current delivery coverage, which the startup hopes to rapidly expand in the near future.

As part of their quest to show why supporting local companies like theirs, instead of using one of their multi-national competitors, the duo has been delivering snack bags to local area nurses, police officers and firefighters.

Allen is in charge of the day to day operations and for the time being, the person customers will likely see delivering their items.

The service operates from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. daily with a simple $1.99 delivery fee on all orders, though there is a $10 dollar minimum purchase requirement.

The company is currently offering a discount to first-time customers using promo-code “snackeez5” at checkout. Offer excludes tobacco and alcohol products.

Allen said he is hopeful the community will show its support to their new venture and ended by reciting the company’s slogan, “if you need a snack, we got your back.”
