Crash along SR-146 sends one to hospital

By Staff Report

A portion of State Route 146 was closed Wednesday morning as first responders worked to extricate an individual from their vehicle.

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. when a white utility truck, traveling westbound along SR-146 near Olde Falls Inn, struck a Honda Civic that had turned off Kearns Drive, resulting in both vehicles going off the roadway.

According to troopers, the driver of the Honda Civic had to be extracted from the vehicle by mechanical means and was transported to Genesis Hospital.

The driver of the white utility truck did not need any medical assistance.

An initial assessment by troopers indicates that the driver of the Honda Civic failed to yield, causing the utility truck to strike it.

The driver could face possible citations following the completion of the trooper’s investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Falls Township Fire & EMS, Zanesville Fire Department, and Genesis Community Ambulance.
