Police were called to Genesis Hospital just before midnight Monday to investigate claims from an earlier incident in which a man failed to tell police his girlfriend ran him over with her car, according to a call report from the Zanesville Police Department.

The report states the man initially called police around 7:30 p.m. to report he’d been injured, but didn’t want to admit it was his girlfriend at the time.

It wasn’t until the victim found out he would require leg surgery that the man told police it was his girlfriend’s fault, the report says.

It is unclear whether charges will be filed at this time.
