Over 4,000 customers without power in Muskingum County
April 17, 2020
Transmission line issues have left over 4,000 customers without power Friday night in the area of Sonora and Norwich along I-70 east of Zanesville.
According to a media representative with American Electric Power (AEP), crews are currently identifying the issue.
Guernsey-Muskingum Electric is also reporting that over 2,170 customers are without power in Muskingum County.
In other parts of Muskingum County AEP and Guernsey-Muskingum Electric share transmission lines, but the AEP media representative was unable to confirm the outages are related at this time.
AEP is currently estimating a 3 a.m. restoration time, however, that time may be adjusted based upon the extent of the damage, and the utilities’ ability to reroute power around the affected areas.
