Traffic along I-70 in Zanesville decreases following Ohio’s stay-at-home order
April 6, 2020
As more Ohioans stay at home adhering to Governor Mike DeWine’s orders, traffic along I-70 through Zanesville is down substantially compared to previous traffic counts.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) operates devices around the state which allow the agency to continuously monitor traffic patterns along major roadways. One such device is located along I-70 west of Downtown Zanesville.
Compared to traffic counts from last year at this time and data from earlier this year, traffic is down almost 35% along I-70 near Zanesville.
According to Matt Bruning, Press Secretary for ODOT, traffic across the state is down more than 40% as of this past Saturday.
As has been observed in other states, pollution levels are down within the City of Zanesville due to reduced traffic along the interstate corridor through Zanesville.

A good time to get those orange barrel projects started and out of the way.
