South East Area Transit (SEAT) is asking riders to only use public transit buses for essential travel.

Following Governor Mike DeWine’s order, Stewart defines essential travel as transportation to work, medical appointments, the grocery store, and to pick up prescriptions.

As previously reported by Y-City News, DeWine has encouraged Ohioans to purchase twice as much when they venture out to buy items such as food at the grocery to reduce the need to leave their home as often.

Stewart asks that passengers be compliant with social distancing requirements to the greatest extent possible.

The transit system is continuing to clean its buses, Transit Center and offices with hospital-grade disinfectants.

Additionally, employees have been provided with hand sanitizers, and operators are equipped with protective gear, including gloves.
