Governor Mike DeWine announced Monday that in-person voting for Ohio’s Primary Election has been postponed until June. 2.

In the meantime, the absentee ballot voting will be extended.

“This should extend the period of time so that people will not have to choose between their constitutional rights and their health,” said DeWine.

According to DeWine, as governor, he is not legally authorized to make such an order unless there is an invasion without court approval.

DeWine said a lawsuit will be filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court asking a judge to affirm his decision.
